Handsworth Medical Practice is working to reduce our carbon footprint
Handsworth Medical Practice recognises the climate emergency and the part we have to play in reducing our carbon emissions here at the practice.
We have therefore signed up to the Green Impact for Health Toolkit in order to not only improve our carbon footprint, but also improve the quality of care we provide and the outcomes for patients.
The changes we are making include reviewing our prescribing, especially around inhalers, as these are the biggest contributor to carbon emissions, and empowering patients to achieve healthier lifestyles and exploring holistic approaches to treatment.
There is more information on the Greener Practice website.
There are several team members involved in the project including Dr Jo Kennedy, Dr Hammad Shaikh and PCN Pharmacist Lucinda Gokaraju.
We welcome any patient feedback on this initiative.
